• Performs histological procedures including embedding, cutting, and staining surgical, biopsy and anatomical tissues for light and fluorescent microscopic slide review.
• Recognizes deviation from expected results and refers them to designated supervisory personnel to prevent the release of inappropriate data.
• Analyzes and corrects problems within established periods to expedite diagnosis. 40-50 Blocks should be embedded and at least 30 blocks cut per hour, which includes a combination of biopsies, Fatty tissue cases and routines. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Associatersquo;s degree in related life science or applied science field OR HEW/HHS or HT(ASCP) certification with laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Bachelorrsquo;s degree in Histology, related life science or applied science field.
  • HT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year experience and/or training in a laboratory setting Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
