About the Role:


As a CBRE Facilities Sr. Manager, you will lead many functions of building operations and maintenance for our clients World Headquarters, a Class A facility located in Summit, NJ. This highly regarded position is within the Facilities Management functional area which is vital asset to our 200sf portfolio, and adding 200sf of lab space in 2025. It will require a candidate who can set high-expectations, run client outcomes, high-touch quality service, and have oversight of critical and non-critical assets.


What You will Do:

  • This is the World Headquarters for our client with 200,000sf of office space, and another 200,000sf of lab space going in next year.
  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Lead the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Lead the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross train staff. Set and track staff and department timelines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of facility repairs and maintenance by collaborating with union and nonunion technicians, vendors, and wide variety of contractors.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
  • Prepare and lead large and high-profile capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports.
  • Perform facility inspections quality assurance following local, state, and federal laws. Suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
  • Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
  • Develop vendor relationships and coordinate invoicing procedures. Review and approve purchase orders for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own subject area, and how own field integrates with the team to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
  • Identify and tackle technical and operational problems of complexity.
  • Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job.

    What You will Need:

    • Hospitality background with a "white glove service" helpful.
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Property or Facility Management certification highly preferred.
    • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and exciting performance and retention is helpful.
    • Ability to own the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
    • Leadership skills to empower the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job field, multiple job subject areas, and department.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
    • Extensive interpersonal skills and an inquisitive approach.
    • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
