About Orwashers BakeryOrwashers Bakery is a renowned New York City institution, founded in 1916. We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Director to oversee all aspects of our large-scale bakery operations, including warehousing and logistics. This individual must have a strong background in food manufacturing and warehouse operations, with experience managing multiple warehouses and overseeing inbound and outbound shipments.Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic thinking to execute warehouse operations, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and general maintenance.
• Manage the warehouse team, overseeing inventory levels and coordinating supplies and transportation between facilities.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for multiple facilities and equipment.
• Work closely with production and packing teams to ensure efficient manufacturing.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Establish and enforce policies ensuring employee safety and food safety.
• Provide on-the-floor training, support, and mentorship to the team.
• Develop logistics talent within the organization.
• Communicate operational issues and work with department heads to ensure smooth production flow.
• Meet weekly with the leadership team to report on KPIs, challenges, and process enhancements.
• Lead the development and roll-out of supply chain analytics capabilities.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements to generate savings for the company.
• Manage established budget and provide periodic budget reports.About You
  • 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food, CPG, or beverage.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably.
  • Strong technical skills in process improvements and materials management.
  • Ability to navigate changing business demands and work in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent communication and management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings and evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Friendly, personable, punctual, and dependable.
