Responsibilities:
The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper is dedicated to meeting the need for high-quality, evidence-based treatment in the community. We provide a personalized approach to drug and alcohol addiction, with expert clinical and medical staff supporting our patients through each step of the process. Our partnership with Cooper University Health Care is a testament to both organizations' commitment to increasing access to safe, compassionate addiction treatment in South Jersey and beyond. Cooper University Health Care is the leading academic health system in South Jersey and -provides access to primary, specialty, tertiary, and urgent care, all within one complete health system. Cooper has more than 8,500 employees, including 800+ -physicians practicing in more than 75 specialties. -Hospitals throughout the region send the most complex and critically ill and injured to Cooper for treatment by our highly skilled experts.The Substance Abuse Navigator will be responsible for screening clients within the Cooper University Hospital Emergency Department and other departments within the Cooper Health system for a substance abuse disorder, using clinically validated scales. - Patients who present with substance abuse issues will be linked to eligible services for ongoing care. - Navigator will educate and provider resources to clients and their support team members. -Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:CORE JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist clients in taking clinically validated substance abuse assessments upon entering Cooper University Hospital Emergency Department and other departments within the Cooper Health system
  • Provide clients with orientation and basic overview of SUD treatment for successful treatment experience in order to increase the likelihood of a client's understanding and follow-through with treatment/recovery
  • Assist clients in finding resources for ongoing substance abuse treatment
  • Provide resources to clients and family members
  • Communicate with hospital staff to build a rapport and coordinate care -OTHER REQUIRED TASKS:
    • Responsible for maintaining accurate records, confidentiality and compiling timely reports
    • Work collaboratively with all ARS team members
    • Communicate effectively with supervisor
    • Working knowledge of different pathways to recovery and social systems including evidence-based practices
    • Advocate for the needs of each individual
    • Pursues professional development through participation in education and training programs
    • Contributes positively to the morale of other staff members
    • Performs other tasks as assigned

      Qualifications:
      -COVID-19 Vaccination RequirementAdvanced Recovery Systems complies with state-specific COVID-19 vaccination mandates for healthcare workers.       • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
      • Minimum two years' experience in Peer Recovery Services, Social Service, or Customer Service -
      • A minimum of two years in recovery OR Have been affected by a family member's drug history or have experienced a direct impact of substance use disorder - strongly preferred
